Vallejo Pigments – New Rust

New Rust is the bright, vivid orange of freshly-formed corrosion the kind that streaks down from a bolt after the first rain. This ultra-fine Vallejo pigment brushes on dry for lively rust highlights, or fixes with thinner and binder for built-up patches. Layered over darker rusts it gives that convincing, recently-oxidised glow that stops metalwork looking flat and lifeless.

Best for

• Fresh rust streaks and highlights
• Lively oxidation over darker base rust
• Recently-corroded metal and fixings

The bright tone is what sells the freshness a little over old rust and the effect leaps to life.

Fresh rust with real vibrancy. Team with Old Rust, Pigment Binder and earth pigments for layered corrosion.
